Ms. Ericka Essington brings a wealth of experience from her 17-year tenure as a registered nurse and 12 years as a paramedic. Her proficiency spans 15 years in air medical and critical care transport, where she held pivotal roles as an outreach coordinator, base medical manager, national clinical educator, and content writer for critical care and flight review courses.
During her impactful leadership as the Clinical Director of Medical Transport at a prominent healthcare organization, Ericka spearheaded initiatives that notably elevated care standards in medical transport services. Her strategic vision and unwavering dedication propelled the organization to new heights of excellence.
Presently, as a Board Member at Large for the International College of Advanced Practice Paramedics formerly known as International Association of Critical Care and Flight Paramedics, Ericka plays a key role in advocating for the critical care and flight paramedic community. Her leadership in membership initiatives underscores her commitment to advancing healthcare practices and fostering a community of excellence and continuous learning.

Co-Founder & Chief Operating Officer
Ms. Jessica Layne Picanzo brings over two decades of clinical experience, focusing on high-quality, patient-centered care, and nearly a decade in hospital and public safety leadership. As a seasoned healthcare leader and flight nurse/paramedic, Jessica held a pivotal role as Director, Enterprise Emergency Operations & Medical Transport at HCA Healthcare.
Jessica also served as a Regional Clinical Manger with Med-Trans Corporation where she oversaw operations for air medical operations across the United States. During her time with Med-Trans she co-lead the building and expansion of the "float team'", a group of clinicians that worked at every Med-Trans base across the country. As a dedicated professional, Jessica has served on the Air Surface & Transport Nurses (ASTNA) Publications committee, contributing to the production and editing of various medical transport publications. Additionally, she holds an intermittent position as a Nurse Specialist for the U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services National Disaster Medical Services, deploying over 30 times as a member of TN-1 Disaster Medical Assistance Team (DMAT).
Jessica's extensive background encompasses both domestic and international homeland security and medical response training & operations. She holds multiple certifications in homeland security, disaster preparedness, and is recognized as one of the few Certified Medical Transport Executives globally. Jessica earned her Master of Nursing in leadership and management from Western Governors University and holds a certificate in Paramedicine from Volunteer State University.
Chief Nursing Executive
In this role she is responsible for the overall delivery and management of patient care, clinical education and professional nursing, practice for the clinical nursing flight program.
She has been in nursing for over 30 years and has been in Nurse Executive level roles with the largest acute care health systems in the country. She is a transformational leader with more than 25 years of clinical nursing leadership. Her duties were strategic planning, operationalizing nursing initiatives, revenue cycle, nursing education, quality performance, patient safety and program development. She was responsible for all nursing operations in numerous acute care hospitals.
Her extensive nursing and healthcare background allows her to anticipate trends and changes in the healthcare marketplace. She was awarded numerous awards for operational excellence during her tenure as a Chief Nursing Officer and she can provide guidance in the areas of critical care, NICU level III, cardio-vascular critical care, peri-operative, emergency, flight nursing and behavioral health care service lines.
